Bengaluru: A 35-year-old woman died after sustaining serious injuries in a chain-snatching incident in Bengaluru on August 15. Radhamma, a resident of Tirumanahalli in Mulbagal taluk, succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital on Tuesday night while undergoing treatment.
Woman dragged for nearly 30 metres
Radhamma had travelled to Kadubeesanahalli in Bengaluru for personal work. While she was walking near the Kadubeesanahalli bridge, two men riding a two-wheeler allegedly approached her from behind and attempted to snatch the gold chain she was wearing.
During the incident, the robbers reportedly dragged Radhamma for nearly 30 metres before managing to take the chain and flee the spot.
She suffered serious injuries in the attack and was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru, where she remained under treatment.
Woman succumbs to injuries
Despite treatment, Radhamma died at the hospital on Tuesday night.
The incident has caused concern over the safety of pedestrians, particularly amid the continuing threat of chain-snatching incidents in the city.
Police investigation underway
A case has been registered at the Kadubeesanahalli Police Station in Bengaluru in connection with the incident.
Police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the two men involved in the alleged chain-snatching. Further details regarding the suspects and the progress of the investigation are awaited.
