Bengaluru: A 21-year-old construction worker from Jharkhand was killed on the spot in the under construction Majestic Metro station early on Sunday after a soil laden lorry reversed into him.
The accident that occurred at about 2.30 am claimed life of Santhosh Oran.
Co-workers rushed the severely injured Oran to Victoria Hospital where doctors pronounced him as ‘brought dead’.
BMRCL authorities have made arrangements for his family members to reach Bengaluru and take his body to Jharkhand by air.
The contractor will provide immediate compensation of Rs 50,000 to the family, who will also receive compensation under the Workmen Compensation Act. BMRCL announced compensation of Rs. 50,000 to Oran’s family, sources added.
The police have registered a case.
