Bengaluru: The Congress party has revealed its list of seven candidates for the upcoming biennial elections for 11 seats in the Karnataka Legislative Council, scheduled for June 13. These positions are opening up due to the retirement of current members on June 17.

The party has nominated Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah, and decided to renominate Minister NS Boseraju. The remaining candidates are Vasanthkumar, K Govindraj, Ivan D’souza, Bilkis Bano, Jagdev Guttedar and Basangouda Badarli as the candidate for the upcoming bye-election.
The Assembly comprises 133 Congress MLAs, 66 BJP MLAs, and 19 JD(S) MLAs. Additionally, the Congress claims the support of four more MLAs, including two independents.
