The Karnataka Youth Congress on Friday organised a torchlight rally in Bengaluru, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged irregularities surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

Carrying torches and raising slogans, Youth Congress leaders and workers marched through parts of the city, accusing the Centre of failing to ensure transparency and fairness in the conduct of national entrance examinations.
The protesters alleged that repeated controversies involving competitive examinations had undermined the confidence of students and parents across the country.
Demand for accountability
Addressing the gathering, Youth Congress leaders demanded that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan accept responsibility for the alleged lapses and step down from his post.
The protesters also called for a fair and transparent investigation into the alleged examination irregularities and urged the Centre to implement measures to safeguard the credibility of future recruitment and entrance tests.
They said students deserve an examination system that is transparent, secure and free from any malpractice.
Call for reforms
The rally concluded peacefully under police supervision.
The Youth Congress reiterated its demand for accountability and urged the Union Government to strengthen the examination system to restore public confidence and protect the interests of lakhs of aspiring students across the country.
