Bidar: Relentless rainfall began at 4 am, intensifying with a constant downpour. The city is echoing with the sound of heavy rain, severely disrupting daily life. Morning routines, commuting to schools and colleges have been severely affected. The city’s major roads are currently submerged under stagnant water, resulting in a reduced flow of traffic.
In the past 24 hours, Bidar district received 35 mm of rainfall, with Bidar taluk recording 82 mm and Chittaguppa taluk receiving 65 mm of rainfall. Rainfall is occurring in all the taluks of the district, bringing joy to the farmers. Rainfall was also reported on Sunday.
While the district experienced favorable rainfall in June and July, August remained dry, leading to the withering of crops. Farmer organizations had previously called for the declaration of a drought in the district.
