18-Year-Old Found Dead in Bidar District; Murder Suspected

Hubballi Dharwad Faces Challenges In Revising Auto Fares Amid Electric Auto Surge

An 18-year-old girl, who had been missing since Friday, was found dead in Bidar district. According to Basava Kalyana police circle inspector B Ali Sab, the girl’s parents, who reside in Gunateerthawadi village, reported her missing on Saturday.

On Sunday evening, a local resident discovered the body in a bush. Initial examinations revealed multiple injuries, including a head wound, suggesting she may have been struck with a stone. Preliminary investigations indicate the possibility of sexual assault and murder.

Due to recent heavy rainfall, evidence collection has been challenging. Sniffer dogs and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) teams were deployed, but little evidence was found at the scene. A case has been registered under Section 103 (murder) and Section 238 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the BNS Act, and an investigation is ongoing.
