An altercation erupted at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College in Bidar during a cultural event rehearsal, as students from two communities clashed over a performance to the song ‘Jaishree Rama’. The disagreement escalated from a verbal confrontation to physical violence after members of one community disrupted the performance.
Authorities from the Gandhiganj police station swiftly intervened, registering a case against 25 individuals involved in the altercation. In response to the incident, the college management cancelled the two-day cultural program as a precautionary measure.
Security around the college premises has been strengthened to ensure the safety of students and faculty members.
