Bengaluru : Tejasvi Surya, a BJP MP from Bengaluru, criticized the Karnataka Congress government on Saturday for failing to give the family of Captain M.V. Pranjal, who was killed on November 22 in a terrorist encounter in Jammu and Kashmir, a fitting honorarium.

Surya, the National President of BJP Yuva Morcha, posted on social media, stating, “It has been ten days since Capt. Pranjal achieved martyrdom while serving our country. However, the State government has not given the deceased soul’s family a fitting tribute. In this regard, they are not even contacted.”

He stated that although money cannot make Captain Pranjal return, and the media’s attention is typically diverted to other matters, it is crucial that his parents receive sufficient assistance during these trying times.

“I ask CM Siddaramaiah and DyCM D.K. Shivakumar to compensate Captain Pranjal’s parents with Rs 50 lakh right away, without any further delay.

“Putting yourself in line of fire at a young age of 29, and making the ultimate sacrifice, is a heroic act that will inspire every generation,” Surya said.

“To not limit our tributes to Capt Pranjal to a single day, and to allow youngsters to keep drawing inspiration from his memory, I request CM Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar to name Jigani Main Road in Captain Pranjal’s name. It will be a small yet lasting tribute to honour Captain Pranjal’s sacrifice,” he said.
