Chamarajanagar: Pushpa Amarnath, Vice President of the State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority (Mysuru Division), announced that Chamarajanagar district has secured the top position in the state for its implementation of the Gruhalakshmi scheme.
Speaking at a progress review meeting of guarantee schemes held at the KDP Hall of the District Administrative Building on Thursday, she revealed that 2,73,948 women in the district have registered for the Gruhalakshmi scheme. To date, more than ₹53.77 crore has been directly deposited into the beneficiaries’ accounts.
However, 3,599 people are yet to register due to technical issues and lack of proper information about the scheme. Pushpa Amarnath instructed officials to ensure that all eligible individuals benefit from the Gruhalakshmi scheme and to achieve 100% progress.
She explained that the release of funds for the Gruhalakshmi scheme has been delayed by two months due to ongoing processes to exclude GST and income tax payers, as well as technical issues. She clarified that the government is not facing a shortage of funds, as ₹56,000 crore has been allocated in the budget for implementing guarantee schemes.
Regarding the Shakti scheme, 10.20 crore passengers in the district have traveled on KSRTC buses since its implementation. Of these, 6.27 crore were women passengers, accounting for 61.50% of the total. This has generated ₹216.67 crore in revenue for the transport corporation.
The official also provided updates on other guarantee schemes:
- Gruhajyoti scheme: 99.48% of the target has been achieved, with 2,65,911 beneficiaries. Only 1,386 people are left to register.
- Annabhagya scheme: ₹151.65 crore has been deposited into beneficiaries’ accounts. Due to e-KYC technical issues, funds couldn’t be transferred to 7,405 people, but this problem will be resolved soon.
- Yuvanidhi scheme: 2,175 candidates have registered, and funds have been directly deposited into the accounts of 1,809 eligible beneficiaries.
Pushpa Amarnath emphasized that the government’s five guarantee schemes have helped women lead independent and dignified lives. She also stated that measures are being taken to implement these schemes more effectively in the district.
The progress review meeting was attended by H.V. Chandru, District President of the Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority, Mona Roth, CEO of the Zilla Panchayat, and other district-level officials.
