Tragic Road Accidents Claim Eight Lives In Karnataka

Two devastating road accidents in Chikkamagaluru and Haveri districts of Karnataka on Friday have left eight people dead and several injured, casting a pall of grief over the affected communities.

Fatal Collision on NH 173

In Chikkamagaluru district, a collision involving two cars and a truck on NH 173 near Kottigehara claimed the lives of four family members and left 12 others injured. The victims, identified as Hampaiah (65), Prema (58), Manjaiah (60), and Prabhakar (45), were returning to Channapatana village in Holalkere taluk after a visit to temples in Dharmasthala. The injured were rushed to hospitals in Mangaluru for treatment.

Tragedy Strikes in Haveri District

Meanwhile, in Haveri district, another family faced a tragic fate as their car plunged off a bridge on the outskirts of Ranebennur. Suresh Jadi (43), Ishwarya Barki (16), Chetan Sumangadi (7), and Prabhuraj Sumangadi (45) lost their lives in the accident, while four others sustained injuries. Two of the injured were taken to a private hospital in Davanagere, while the remaining two were admitted to the government hospital in Ranebennur.

As the communities reel from the shock of these tragic incidents, condolences pour in for the bereaved families, and support is extended to those recovering from injuries.
