Chitradurga: A tragic accident near Balekatte in Sirigere resulted in the death of one person and left two others injured when an ambulance collided with a lorry. The ambulance was transporting the body of Shiv Basava, a Haveri resident who had passed away due to heart complications at Jayadeva Hospital in Bengaluru.
The deceased has been identified as Sarojamma (52), a relative of Shiv Basava. The accident occurred as the ambulance was en route from Bengaluru to Haveri. Along with Sarojamma, two others in the ambulance sustained injuries and were promptly taken to the district hospital for treatment.
The Bharamasagar police have registered a case and are investigating the incident further.
