Chitradurga District: Heavy rains late Tuesday night led to significant flooding across the district, filling up water bodies and causing widespread damage. Bedareddyhalli in Challakere taluk recorded the highest rainfall in the state, with 11 cm of rain. The downpour caused ponds in Bedareddyhalli, Mallasamudra, Talaku, and Kodihalli to overflow.
In Kodihalli, a large compound wall collapsed by the highway due to the intense rains. Flooding was severe in Nayakanahatti and Challakere, where several homes were inundated, and even prepared meals were washed away. In the Bharamasagara bypass area, a cow was tragically swept away in a stormwater drain.
The heavy rains resulted in partial damage to 49 houses and destroyed crops on 25 hectares of land.
