Mangaluru: On November 19, a ‘Chitrakala’ art competition organized by News Karnataka took place at Fiza by Nexus Mall, Pandeshwar, in celebration of Children’s Day. The competition featured two categories: for children in classes 1 to 3, the theme was ‘My Favorite Cartoon Character,’ and for children in classes 4 to 7, the theme was ‘My Dream Kudla.’
In the ‘My Favorite Cartoon Character’ category, Mokshitha AB secured the first prize, Taniksha P Kotyan earned the second prize, and Tatpar Shetty claimed the third prize. The competition was judged by John Chandran, an art teacher and cartoonist.
In the ‘My Dream Kudla’ category for children in classes 4 to 7, Y Hansika took the first prize, Manvit KL secured the second prize, and Aaradhya won the third prize.
Over 200 children participated in the program, showcasing their artistic talents by painting their favorite cartoons with vibrant colors. The theme ‘My Dream Kudla’ sparked imaginative creations that captivated art lovers.
The winners were honored with prizes presented by Arvind Srivastava, Center Director at Fiza by Nexus Mall, Mangalore; Brian Fernandes, Director at News Karnataka; Rakesh Kamath, Manager of Operations Hangyo Ice Creams; and Pratibha Salian, the India Finesse crown winner.
The event was graced by the presence of Rajani Shetty, President of Rotary Club of Mangalore Metro; Aysha, owner of Aysha’s Teatime & Aysha’s Makeover Academy; and Deepak Ganguly, owner of Pathway Enterprises Mangalore. The program concluded with the felicitation of the guests with mementos.”
