Karwar: Former prime minister and JD(S) national president H D Devegowda, taking a jib at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, said that the latter who called himself an atheist suddenly turned into a believer after becoming the CM.
During his visit to a temple in Sirsi, Gowda, speaking to reporters on Sunday night said that his party will come to power in the state, but the ultimate decision is in the hands of the voters.
“Earlier, we were criticised for being ‘Father-sons’ party. But the truth is that ours is a community leadership party, as large number of leaders in this party are from backward communities,” he said adding that like in some other states in the country where regional parties have come to power, the same must happen in Karnataka as well for well-being of the state.
With regard to the upcoming polls, he said that the JD(S) will release its list of candidates by December end.
He said that he will personally take up tour of Uttar Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district to fortify the party. Meanwhile, H D Kimaraswamy will tour the state, starting from November 1.
