Karwar: Holi, the festival of colours, was celebrated in all the 12 Taluk Headquarters, including the District Headquarters here on Tuesday March 7.
People played colours with gaiety and children, women, youth and young women celebrated Holi. They exchanged greetings with each other by applying colours in City.
On the night of Monday, the Kama Dahana took place near Kodibagh, Rangamandira and Maruthi Mandir in the City. From the morning of Tuesday onwards, the colour was spilled and played. The water was mixed with colour and thrown at each other.
DJ was on the streets. The whole City seemed to be decorated with colours. For weeks, different costumes, harvest dances, and different communities had formed groups to colour the festival in their own different styles. In Sirsi, the dance of the hunters was unique.
