Karwar: Legislative Council Speaker Basavaraj Horatti has condoled the demise of his friend and Former MP Dhruvanarayan.
Speaking to mediapersons here in the City, he said, “Dhruvanarayan had a good rapport with me. Dhruvanarayan is one of those politicians who will be remembered for their good thoughts. I have never seen anyone like him. He was not confined to any party but was close to everyone. Every time I came to Bangalore, he would not go without meeting me. May his soul rest in peace.”
Responding to a media query on the issue of distribution of sarees and cookers by political parties even before the announcement of elections, he said, “In a democracy, if money and saree cooker distribution system continues, good people cannot come into politics. If you play with money like this, where should justice and morality go? Voters should vote for those who are worthy in the Constituency, and those who cares for the voters,” he said.
“Sexual harassment of students in residential schools is alarming. Something can be said if this is the case elsewhere. But such incidents in educational institutions are scary. It would be a great crime to do this when parents send their children trusting the teacher. Strict action should be taken against those who commit such acts and they should be dismissed from service. Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has already assured strict action in connection with the Hassan case,” he said and added that it was the duty of the Government to warn such offenders through strict action.
