Karwar: Sit-in protest demanding encroached land regularisation

Karwar: The encroachers submitted a memorandum to the District In-Charge Minister Shivaram Hebbar after the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here on Thursday January 19, demanding regularisation of the encroached land.

For the past eight days, the agitators have been staging a sit-in at the DC’s Office in the City. There is a demand to regularise the encroached land in Shirwada. District In-Charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, who visited Karwar on Thursday January 19, listened to the problems of the protestors.

Karnataka Dalita Rakshana Vedike President Elisha Elakapati submitted a memorandum to the Minister on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that action will be taken in this regard soon. The Minister assured that a meeting will be held with the concerned officials and those who staged the dharna in the next 10 days and appropriate action will be taken. MLA Rupali Naik and other officials were present on the occasion.
