Karwar: Health Minister Dr. Sudhakar has announced the construction of a super-specialty hospital in the District. Social Activist Raghu Naika said that the Padayatra to Honnavar has been temporarily withdrawn.
Addressing a press conference at the District Press Club here on Wednesday October 12, he said that Minister Sudhakar had promised to build a super-specialty hospital in Kumta and we have faith in his words. Minister also has promised to upgrade the Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences. So we have decided to withdraw the padayatra, he said.
Recently, when a young woman in Karwar was injured in an accident and was admitted to the District Hospital, her finger was cut off as she was not provided proper first aid. Doctors at the Mangaluru Hospital expressed their displeasure over the negligence of the doctors here. An inquiry should be conducted and action should be taken against those who were negligent in the case. Efforts are also being made to transfer the District Superintendent of Police. But he put a stop to illegal activities, including matka and chicken points, and insisted that he should not be transferred under any circumstances, he added.
