Karwar: Atul Anand, Flag Officer, Karnataka Naval Region, INS Kadamba Naval Base, said that there has been a delay in bringing the Tupelo fighter jet to Karwar. “The technical problem has been resolved and the Tupelo fighter aircraft will soon be delivered to the Chapel Warfare Museum,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons in the City, he said two of those who have already floated the tender are qualified. The process will be terminated. He said the relocation work from Chennai will start in four months. The Navy has spent Rs. 4 Crore to bring the Tupelo fighter aircraft.

“It has to be brought from Chennai to Karwar in smaller parts. We have fixed the technical issues that existed so far,” he said.

“The area where the Warship Museum will be located will be a museum of warships and aircraft weapons. There are 8,000 to 10,000 people at Karwar Naval Base. In the coming days, 15,000 to 16,000 people will come. So that all our demands will be met in Karwar City and thus it will also grow,” he said.

He said that the work on the Civili Airport will also be done along with the Naval Airport. District In-Charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary had laid the foundation stone,” he added.
