8-year-old boy electrocuted in Kasaragod - 1 min read

Kasaragod: An eight-year-old boy was killed in a terrible incident on Tuesday October 19, when he apparently came into contact with a power line in Morattane near Vorkady in the District.

The deceased has been identified as Mokshit Raj Shetty, son of Sadashiva Shetty, and was a student of Talakala Lower Primary School.

The incident happened on Tuesday evening, when the boy went to play at a nearby under-construction house. He got into contact with a low-hanging power line near the building’s staircase.

According to the sources, the boy did not return after a long time and his parents became concerned and began looking for him. His body was found on the first floor of the building.
