Kota: In a significant development, the Kota police arrested Chaitra Kundapura, the prime suspect in a multi-crore scam related to the alleged fraudulent allocation of BJP assembly election tickets. Kundapura was brought to town for questioning in connection with a separate case involving a Rs 5 lakh fraud accusation filed by Sudheena Poojary, a fish seller. The complaint alleged Kundapura swindled money by promising to establish a textile shop on Poojary’s behalf.
Chaitra was presented before Judge Shyam Prakash at the Additional Civil Judge and First Class Judicial Magistrate Court Circuit Bench in Brahmavar. After being taken into police custody from Parappana Agrahara jail, she faced intensive interrogation led by the Brahmavar Circle Inspector.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, Chaitra surprisingly appeared composed and even waved at media cameras, maintaining a cheerful demeanor during her public appearance. The police sought a two-day custody for further investigation, although the inquiry was swiftly concluded within a day.
Post-interrogation, Chaitra was transferred to Mangaluru jail, with plans to move her to Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara jail on November 1. The ongoing investigations into this multi-crore scam continue to send shockwaves through the political landscape and legal system, prompting questions about the depth of the alleged fraud.
