Kundapura: Voting is the right of every citizen which needs to be exercised without fail. This principle was aptly followed by a severely injured person, admitted to hospital, here on Thursday, April 18.

Jayasheela Poojary, a 30-year-old resident of Ulthoor had met with a bike accident about three weeks ago. His right leg was badly damaged and he was admitted to a private hospital.

As he got discharged couple of days back, he had insisted his parents to take him to the polling booth to cast his vote.

On his demand, he was brought in an ambulance on a stretcher to the polling booth at Ulthoor school.

Jayasheela cast his vote sleeping on the stretcher, as he was not able to stand.

The polling officers have lauded his effort.

He has set an example for all those who don’t take voting seriously.
