Kundapur: On Saturday September 11, a woman drowned while trying to save her drowning child in Nada village. The incident claimed the lives of both the child and the mother.
The deceased are identified as the wife and son of journalist Noel Chungigudde, Rosy Riya Pereira (36) and son Shawn (11).
According to reports, the boy slipped and fell into the river accidentally. The woman who attempted to save her son also drowned in the water.
Rosy’s body was found after the boy’s mortal remains were discovered. Gangolli Police, fire and emergency service officials rushed to the spot.
