Mangaluru: Mangaluru MLA U. T. Khader said that it is about time the State Government took a firm stand on growing religious divide.

Reacting to Rashtriya Hindu Sena Chief Pramod Muthalik’s call to boycott buying gold from Muslim jewellers and jewellery shops, Khader told mediapersons here on Monday April 25 that this kind of development is not the issue of people giving provocative statement but of the Government which has gone on silent mode when it comes to such issues. The ruling Government itself has allowed people to talk as they please on such issues, he charged.

Stating that no where else in the world such a situation prevails, Khader warned that the Government’s silence on these issues will prove to be costly for the nation. If this Government has any love left for the nation, it’s time they took some action, he added.

Expressing his ire on Congress Leader Priyank Kharge being served CID notice in connection with PSI recruitment scam, Khader said that in order to hide the failure of the State Government, the BJP is resorting to such actions. Kharge will not buckle down to such baseless allegations as he has spoken what is there in the public domain, he stressed.

Taking a jibe at State BJP Chief Nalin Kumar Kateel’s statement that as many as 10 MLAs of Congress are in touch with BJP, Khader said that like how he has got down the dollar to Rs. 20 and has provided sand at Rs. 2000, this issue is also has got the same seriousness.
