Mangaluru: After the 2024 elections, 50 states will emerge in this country including two in the State, said Forest Minister Umesh Katti.
He was speaking to mediapersons on Thursday June 23 at Venue, Belthangady of Dakshina Kananda District. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is thinking about it and preparations are underway.
The population of the State, which was 2.5 Crore is now 6.5 Crore.This means that the State has to be bifurcated as the population grows. Two states in Karnataka, five states in Uttar Pradesh and three in Maharashtra. Thus, a total of 50 states will be created in the entire country, he added.
I have raised my voice when injustice has been done to North Karnataka and will continue to raise it. However, I will warn the Chief Minister that there should not be any trouble as far as united Karnataka is concerned. Other than that we are not asking for a separate state.
