Mangaluru: The Akhil Bharat Vidhyarthi Parishad of Mangaluru (ABVP) held a public meeting and cultural event in the city’s Urvastore ground to commemorate the sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on Balidan Diwas.
Rajesh Padmar, trustee and social worker of Disha India, as the chief spokesperson of the event, said that thousands of martyrs who tried to save India have lost their lives to protect our holy land. He said that sacrifice and service is an integral part of Indian heritage and that there is a need for the youth to pursue it.
Retired superintendent of police P Harischandra, as the chief guest of the function, said that the ideals of sacrifice should be embedded in the lives of young people. Mrs. Bharathi Prabhu, chairperson of the City of Mangaluru, and Mrs. Shreyas Shetty, secretary, MCC deputy mayor Sumangala Rao were present.
College students and dance teams presented cultural programs.
