In response to reports of four individuals behaving suspiciously and making bulk purchases at a grocery store in a neighboring district, the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) has launched combing operations in areas bordering Kodagu district within Subrahmanya police limits of Dakshina Kannada.
The combing operations, which commenced in Kadamakal, Madikeri taluk, bordering Dakshina Kannada, aim to address alleged Naxal movement concerns. Senior officials have visited the areas to gather information, with ANF Superintendent of Police Jitendra Dayam confirming the ongoing combing operations.
Dayam emphasized that such operations are routine for the ANF, which has maintained a presence in border areas between Kerala and Karnataka for the past 15 years. He noted that each of the ANF’s five camps dispatches a team daily for combing operations.
Regarding reports of suspicious activity in Kodagu, Dayam stated that the ANF routinely receives such information and takes it seriously, particularly during election periods. The ANF verifies the information before taking further action, such as registering a First Information Report (FIR).
