Banning Muslim traders from temple fest: Mithun to gherao Dist Admin office

Mangaluru: Youth Congress Leader Mithun Rai condemned the banners displayed in temple surroundings stating that no permission would be given to Muslim traders to do business at temple fairs or festivals.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday March 24, he warned of gheraoing the District Administration office if no action is taken in this regard. He reiterated that Mulky Bappanadu Temple is known for communal harmony since long. Due to the backdrop of Bappa Beary’s legend, this is a role model to the whole nation. The administrative committee has clarified that it is not they who have put up the said banner yet District Administration has not taken any action, he rued.

Further, he added that the delay in removal of the banner by the District Administration has only added to the confusion, and also raises doubt as to the role of District Administration in this while issue. He urged the District Administration to take action or else face gheraoing of its office.
