Mangaluru: Mangaluru police arrested a BJP activist for allegedly trying to protest against the Tipu Jayanti celebrations being held at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath Hall here on November 10.
Fraklin Montiero is the arrested.
The Dakshina Kannada district administration on Thursday had made it very clear that no organizations will be allowed to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi separately, while the one being organised by the government is the only event permitted.
Tight security is in place for the Tipu Jayanthi celebrations keeping in mind the controversies surrounding the same.
