CA students’ conference `Vidwath` in Town Hall on Dec 12

Mangaluru: The Central India Chartered Accountant Students Association (CICASA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) are jointly organising a two-day long CA Students’ Conference `Vidwath` in Town Hall from December 12.

Conference Coordinator Shivananda Pai B of ICAI Mangaluru told reporters here on Saturday, December 8 that the conference will be inaugurated by past president of ICAI G Ramaswamy. “During the two-day conference, there will be different special and technical sessions wherein different resource persons will shed light on the different topics of help for the students in their professional life”, he informed.

Talking about CICASA, Shivananda Pai said, “Over 2000 CA students are attached to the CICASA. In order to help the students who are pursuing CA course, CICASA has been organising seminars, workshops and interaction programmes in which experts will participate and share important information”, he said.

In order to popularise commerce education, the career counselling group, ICAI is conducting a commerce talent search test called as ICAI Commerce Wizard-2018. It is a diagnostic test that measures the concept understanding ability of the student. Unlike regular tests which try only to find out how much a child knows, this test measures how well a student has understood the concepts. Students of IX, X, XI, XII and B Com/BBA/BMS/Allied subjects will be eligible to take this test (online test- Level I) on January 6.

The level II test will be held on January 20. All the participants in Level 1 will receive a participation certificate and in Level II test, the Ist rank holders will be awarded with Rs 1 Lakh cash award. If there are multiple winners, the prize will be shared by them, Shivananda Pai added. Mangaluru Branch ICAI Vice Chairman Anantha Padmanabha, Secretary Raviraj, SICASA Chairman Abdur Rahman Musba, Vice Chairman Anisha Dalvina Lobo and Secretary Rajath R Prabhu were present.
