Mangaluru: A scooter was hit by a speeding car killing the pillion rider on the spot on National Highway 66 at Kapikad in the City on Saturday, March 26.
The deceased has been identified as Emilda D’Souza. She was returning home with her relative on two-wheeler from the Church in Thokkotu as it was her granddaughter’s birthday.
As the car hit the two-wheeler Emilda fell, and was injured. Though she was rushed to a nearby hospital, she died on the way.
