Mangaluru: Chandrashekar, a resident of Moojur in Aithoor village of Kadaba taluk, who had been incarcerated in a Riyadh jail in Saudi Arabia for 11 months on charges of bank account hacking, has been released and returned home on Monday night (November 20).

Chandrasekhar was transported from Riyadh to Mumbai by the police, and from there, he reached Mangaluru airport. Upon his arrival at Mangaluru airport, he became emotional. Chandrasekhar, who had been working in Bengaluru, received a promotion in 2022 and relocated to Saudi Arabia for employment with Alpaner Ceramics.

In November 2022, Chandrasekhar went to a store in Riyadh to purchase a mobile phone and a SIM card. During the transaction, he provided his thumb impression twice. A week later, he received a message in Arabic from a new phone number, which he opened and viewed. Two days after that, he received a phone call requesting information about the SIM. The caller mentioned an OTP. Subsequently, a week later, the police arrived and apprehended Chandrashekhar.
