Mangaluru: “The recent ordinance passed by the central government that a company which has a paid up capital of more than Rs 5 Crore should have a full-time company secretary, has increased the demand for the qualified company secretaries across the country”, informed Chairman of the Mangaluru Chapter of Institute of Company Secretaries of India Chethan Nayak on Saturday, March 16.
He was addressing the students of Company Secretary course, during a daylong workshop on the capital market, FEMA, GST and result orientation, at Ocean Pearl, Kodialbail.
Chethan Nayak briefed about the need for updating and also explained about the opportunities available for company secretaries.
“It is expected that as of now, such companies are more than the availability of qualified company secretaries and shortly the demand for qualified company secretaries will increase drastically. It is also expected that such an increase in demand will continue for the next 4-5 years. The students who have completed second PUC and graduation can join company secretary course to grab these opportunities within the next 2-3 years. The qualified company secretaries not only have demand in employment but there is also a huge demand for practising as independent professional services in corporate matters, GST, FEMA,” said Nayak.
“The Mangaluru Chapter is the only chapter where full-time coaching is being conducted for the students. For the year 2019-20, the Mangaluru Chapter is planning to conduct many batches throughout the day to provide coaching for all levels of exams”, Nayak added.
