Moodbidri: Karnataka State Sports, Youth Affairs and Fisheries Minister K Abhayachandra Jain has received a threat call from a person who has claimed to be underworld fugitive Ravi Poojary.
The Minister received the internet based call starting from 5065 at around 12.45pm on Saturday, October 24.
According to the police complaint filed by the Minister, the caller threatened him stating that he knew that Jain and Dakshina Kannada district In-charge Minister were involved in the Moodbidri based Bajrang Dal activist Prashanth Poojary murder case and that he would kill Jain. The Minister is said to have responded to the call saying that he was not involved in the killing.
Jain then informed the State Chief Minister and the Home Minister about the same. Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Murugan visited Jain’s house in the evening. Security has been doubled at the Minister’s residence following the threat call.
