Constitution Day of India celebrated grandly at KIOCL Township

Mangaluru: Constitution Day of India was conducted by the Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Employees Welfare Association and was celebrated grandly at KIOCL Township, Kavoor, Mangalore on 26 Nov.

The programme commenced by garlanding the bust of the great soul, Dr B.R. Ambedkar. Later at the Nehru Bhavan, KIOCL Township, Kavoor, Mangalore the function was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by all the dignitaries and then the Preamble of the Constitution was read out by the dignitaries in Kannada/ Hindi/ English. Essay and speech competitions were organized on the Constitution of India for the students of Government Post Graduate College, Gandhinagar.

Govindaraju BM, Professor of Sociology, at Mangalore University, was the Chief Guest for this Constitution Day program, and he appraised the audience about the Constitution of India.

Prizes were distributed to the winning students of Essay and Speech Competitions held at the Govt. PU College, Kavoor and School books were donated to around 30 Below Poverty Line students.

The Chief Guest CGM I/c Mangalore and Guest of Honour Dr. Govindaraju B.M., Professor, Dept. of Sociology, Mangalore University appraised the audience on the importance of the Constitution Day.

The Chief General Manager, Mangalore RD Prabhu, Chief General Manager (Services) Sr. Sripathi N., Manager (Human Resources) Ronald M Pias were present on the dais. Subhash Rathod, General Secretary (Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Employees’ Welfare Association), welcomed the guests and the President of the Association Sadashiva delivered the vote of thanks. The Constitution Day programme was compered by Kumari Payal. The programme concluded with the mesmerizing dance performance of the team “Dream Boys Dance Gallery”.
