Mangaluru: Former Supreme Court Judge and Retired Lokayukta N. Santhosh Hegde on Thursday April 28 warned that unfortunately, the four pillars of democracy, Legislature, Executive, Judiciary and the Media are in the hands of people who are greedy, and this fast growing religious and language divide will spell doom to the nation.
He was speaking after inaugurating ‘Samvidhana Odu’ (Read Constitution), a day-long seminar organised at Nitte University in Deralakatte here. Every citizen should know and understand Constitution to build a society that is healthy, he stressed.
Santosh Hegde rued that sadly society has developed culture of worshipping the powerful. Though legal system can be questioned it is really unfortunate that the verdict gets mostly gets delayed, he added.
