Mangaluru: Police arrested one person on Sunday regarding the derogatory comments on Facebook on the deity of Kateel Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple.
The arrested has been identified as Shaffi Moodubelle Bellare. He was taken into police custody from Mangaluru International Airport.
Shaffi was arrested by the police when he landed from Bahrain at the airport. Police who had earlier issued lookout notice against Shaffi arrested him. According to police sources, Shaffi is being interrogated in the custody.
It may be recalled that the derogatory comments on the diety had led to protests demanding strict action against the culprits.
