Drug Trafficking Crackdown: Mangaluru Police Arrest Suspect with Narcotics

Mangaluru: In an operation targeting drug trafficking, Mangaluru city police have apprehended an individual allegedly engaged in the illegal sale of narcotics near the Luv-Kush Kambala maidan in Naringana, within the jurisdiction of the Konaje Police Station.

The arrested individual has been identified as Umar Farooq, also known as Mangal Farooq or Kunhimonu, aged 68 and a resident of Katipalla. At the time of his arrest, he was residing in Netilpadavu.

Police officers seized a total of 998 grams of Ganja, valued at Rs. 20,000, along with a two-wheeler believed to be linked to the accused’s illicit activities.

Acting on intelligence obtained through a tip-off, a team led by Konaje station Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Puneet Gavnkar conducted a raid, resulting in the apprehension of the accused. The combined value of the confiscated items recovered from the possession of the accused was estimated to be Rs. 52,800.
