Entreprenet 2014,St. Aloysius College, Beeri

Mangalore: The St. Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology(AIMIT), in association with Kanara entrepreneurs organised the prelims of the national level business plan contest called “Entreprenet-2014” at AIMIT campus, Beeri and it is open to all.

The inaguration ceremony of the prelims was held on 1st of july in AIMIT auditorium.

The competition was inagurated by Professor of Department of Information and technology, MIT manipal Dr. Manohar pai who was also the chief guest of the ceremony. The pogramme was presided over by Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, Rector of St. Aloysius college Institutions, Mangalore.

He in his presidential address told that the every graduate of this college has the social responsibility. He should go to the villages and make the fruit of the modern technology reach the most ignored section of the society.

Students should be job creators rather than job seekers. Students being the entrepreneurs of tomorrow should convert their ideas into the solutions for the problems in the society.

Rev. Fr. Swebert D’silva pricipal of St. Aloysius College, Mrs. Shobha Mendonca, managing director of Middle East Factory and Dr. Vincent Mascarenhas, Chief co-ordinator of the competetion were among the guests present at the occassion.

Dr. Vincent Mascarenhas welcomed the gathering while Mr. Venkatesh Amin rendered the vote of thanks. Elroy and Mrs. Rajani were the MC’s of the programme.

The qualifiers of the prelims will participate in the semifinals to be held in Bangalore in November and the finals of the competition will be in January next year.Finance upto One Crore will be provided to the winners.

The competition which is of national level will has IIT Chennai, SJCBA Bangalore, XIME Bangalore, IIM Trichy and XLRI Jamshedpur among its participants.

The prizes of the competition are:
First prize      : Cash prize of Rs. One Lakh
Second prize  : Cash prize of Rs. Sixty Thousand
Third prize     : Cash Prize of Rs. Forty Thousand
