Belthangadi: A renowned film director met a watery grave during a photoshoot at Ermai water falls, when he accidentally fell into the water following heavy downpour in the region.
Santhosh Shetty, a resident of Kateel in Dakshina Kannada, became the latest victim of flash floods after torrential rains pounded coastal districts on May 29.
Many photographers and photo journalists get swayed away by the picturesque beauty and greenery surrounding the falls after the rains. In one such incident, director Kumar lost balance and lost his life after he accidentally slipped and fell into the water falls.
Santhosh Shetty had directed Kannada film “Kanasu- Kannu Teredaga” recently.
Four others have lost their lives in the region in the last two days due to incessant rains.
