Mangaluru: The Kadri police filed a case against a Bharatiya Janata Party worker for behaving rudely with them while conducting the party’s Lok Sabha poll victory celebration in city on Thursday, May 23.
As BJP’s candidates won with a huge margin in most of the constituencies, the party workers had organised a victory celebration in city violating the prohibitory orders in the district. The police attempted to convince the party workers against it in vain and the victory procession was taken out from BJP’s election office to its district office in the evening.
Meanwhile, a party worker allegedly behaved rudely with the police when they tried to stop burning crackers in the middle of the road, creating a traffic jam. Though police tried to prevent him from burning crackers he did not budge and allegedly misbehaved with them. The police then filed an FIR against him.
Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil informed that police have a video footage of the youth misbehaving with the police and that the search was on for him based on the video footage.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Patil rewarded few constables of Kadri police station on Friday, May 24, who were proactive in stopping few people from burning crackers on the middle of the road.
