Foundation laid for multi-storied housing complex by KHB at Kudupu, Kotekar

Mangalore: State Housing Minister V Somanna laid the foundation for the proposed multi-storied housing complex  by the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) at  Kudupu and Kotekar, on March 17, Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Somanna said that 42 flats (37 flats of 2BHK and 5 flats of 3 BHK) with a total built up area of 58,000 square feet will be constructed in the first stage. A total of  27 flats (3 flats of 1 BHK and 24 flats of 2BHK with a total built up area of 58,000 square feet will be constructed in second stage at Kudupu colony, he further informed.








At Kotekar,  216 flats will be constructed with a built up area of 2,25,000 square feet, he said adding that the district amphitheater will be constructed in 3.35 acres owned by KHB at Bondel here.  Besides, Ambedkar Bhavan will be constructed on 1.6 acre plot at Kottara – Chowki, Somanna informed.

A separate ward for treatment of rabies patients will be constructed at district prison and Wenlock District Hospital, Somanna further added.

The state government has introduced housing projects in order to provide houses to middle and low income groups, Somanna said and informed that quality checks will be conducted periodically and transparency maintained in the implementation of the project.

 Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge Minister C T Ravi, Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat, MLC Monappa Bhandary, MLA Krishna J Palemar and others were present at the occasion.
