Mangaluru: Janatha Dal (S) candidate for the South West Graduates Constituency, Ashwin J Periera on Saturday, urged all graduates to enroll their names for the MLC Graduate South West Graduates constituency elections.
Addressing a press meet here, Ashwin said that the South West Graduates Constituency elections will comprise of five districts and two taluks. The constituency has 1.5 lakh graduates but only some of them have enrolled their names for the MLC Graduate constituency elections. “The government has already completed the first round of the enrollment process. The second round of the enrollment process will start from November 21,” he added.
So far the enrollment is as follows:
• Dakshina Kannada: 10000
• Shivamogga: 21000
• Udupi: 4900
• Madikeri: 900
He said that as the party’s candidate for the South West Graduates Constituency, it was his responsibility to work for the graduates. “There are many posts which are vacant for degree holders in the government,” he said, concluding his address.
JD(S) district president Mohammed Kunhi said that JD(S) Supremo Deve Gowda and State President Kumara Swamy have selected Ashwin J Periera from the minority community as their candidate for the South West Graduates Constituency.
JD(S) vice president MB Sadashiva, Corporator Rameeza Nasir, Akshith Suvarana, Vasanth Poojary and others were present at the press meet.
