Mangaluru: Fisheries Minister S. Angara inaugurated the International Tourism Day jointly organised by District Administration and Tourism Department at Ocean Pearl Hotel here in the City on Monday September 26.
Speaking on the occasion, Angara said that it is important to highlight and develop tourism places in Dakshina Kannada District. Like how personal growth is in individual’s hand, similarly the growth of the tourism in the district is in the hands of people, officials and administrative authorities of the district.
Further, minister highlighted that vision is very important for the development of tourism in a district and so is the government-backing.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, who presided over the event said that it is important to take up public-private partnership model for tourism development in the region, and added that vision should be put into action too.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V. Urban Development Authority Chairman Ravishankar Mijar, and Coastal Development Authority Chairman Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde were present.
