Home Min Araga Jnanendra announces new buildings for 100 police stations

Sullia: State Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that the State Government has been focusing on strengthening the Police Department.

He announced that new buildings for 100 police stations will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 200 crore. He also said that Rs. 1 crore has been set aside for the Subrahmanya Police Station, and its construction will begin soon.

He was speaking to the media persons during his visit to Subrahmanya on Monday November 8. He said that 10,000 police quarters will be built by 2025 under the Union Home Minister’s ‘Police Gruha 2025’ scheme. “The department hires 4,000 people per year, and there are now only 12,000 open positions,” he explained.

According to the Minister, the police are taking action as per the new cow slaughter prohibition act. He asked the public to assist the police. Regarding the grenades discovered recently in Ilanthila, Uppinangady, he said that an inquiry covering all angles is underway.
