Moodabidri: There is no free meal, they say. But, on November 1, as a part of 61st Kannada Rajyothsava celebration, here in Moodabidri, the doors of a canteen remained open for all to savour some free sumptuous delicacies.

For 57-year-old Raghuveer Mijar, who has been running a canteen opposite Baithari Gopalkrishna Temple over the last 20 years, November 1 is the day to celebrate the Kannada identity and he celebrates it by giving away food to his customers free of cost.

From morning till afternoon, everyone who walked into the hostel could relish tasty tea and snacks without shelling out even a single rupee.

While customers beamed smiles after knowing that all of what they relished came as a gift, Raghuveer Mijar was happy celebrating Rajyothsava in his own way.
