Mangaluru: As actor-turned-politician, rebel star Ambareesh passed away on Saturday, November 24, the government of Karnataka announced official mourning for the next three days. Hence, all government programmes including the formal inauguration of two Taluks Kadaba and Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district has been cancelled.
The formal inauguration of Kadaba and Moodbidri taluks was scheduled for today (November 25) by the revenue minister R V Deshpande. However, due to the sudden death of Ambareesh, the scheduled programmes have been cancelled. Another programme of inaugurating Indira Canteen at Bantwal, which was also scheduled today has been cancelled.
Deputy Commissioner of DK district Sasikanth Senthil confirmed to the media that all government programmes have been cancelled due to mourning.
However, there are no changes in the scheduled Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s(VHP) ‘Janagraha’ meeting at Nehru Maidan. VHP’s district president Jagadish Shenava told Newskarnataka that the meeting will be held at the scheduled place at the scheduled time.
