In a significant breakthrough, the Bajpe police, led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rama Poojary, successfully nabbed a notorious interstate bike thief in Swamilapadavu on Thursday, March 28.
Prahlad (30), hailing from Golibettumane in Sastan, Kundapur taluk, found himself intercepted during a routine vehicle check orchestrated by ASI Rama and his team. Despite efforts to flee upon receiving signals to halt, Prahlad was pursued and apprehended. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the theft of a scooter reported missing from Melkar in Bantwal.
Following his capture, Prahlad was swiftly brought before the court. His criminal record reveals involvement in numerous bike theft cases spanning multiple police jurisdictions, including Kundapur, Mangaluru North, Kota, Brahmavar, and Udupi. Notably, Prahlad had been actively evading court appearances prior to his arrest.
