Mangaluru: Police Inspector Mohammed Shareef of the Mangaluru North Traffic Police station has been suspended by Mangaluru Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar on March 21.
The suspension was based on Shreef’s recent personal international tour without informing the concerned authorities, cited the Compol.
If a police officer goes on a foreign trip, they are obligated by law to notify higher authorities.
Inspector Shareef, who had applied for leave, left on March 16. He had gone to Dubai without the DGP’s consent following the initial tour to Ajmer.
According to sources, the matter came to light after Inspector Shareef arrived in Mangaluru from Dubai on Monday, following which he has been suspended until further orders.
