Mangalore, Mar 26: The misunderstandings in Dakshina Kannada (DK) district Janata Dal Secular (JDS) created confusion in the party. Some of the JDS members for their own gains are trying to damage the image of the party that is proven in their mutual understanding with other party leaders, said Karnataka JDS vice president Susheel Noronha.
Addressing the media persons during a press meet held here on Tuesday March 26, Susheel Noronha said JDS state secretary M G Hegde had changed many parties in the past and finally joined JDS. M G Hegde joined JDS with a specific request to offer him a key post within the party. Meanwhile, JDS state president H D Kumaraswamy has appointed M G Hegde as JDS DK district secretary and not district-in-charge that he claims to be. M G Hegde has not done any work for the betterment of the party. He was working for his own benefit and not for the party. The changing of party has become norm for M G Hegde and he is ideal candidate to confer All Party Desertion Award, said Susheel Noronha.
When Nagaraj Shetty joined JDS, he started his party office in Pio Mall, here. Sadananda Shetty joined JDS as a member and not as a MLA aspirant, Kumaraswamy had announced his candidature for the upcoming elections. When Sadanand Shetty joined the party, some of the members insisted to have his own office in Falnir here. It has organized JDS minority convention day and Kumaraswamy inaugurated the office. M G Hegde was allotted a office by Sadananda Shetty in his office building in Falnir. M G Hegde is trying to break the party; he is spreading rum ours that Sadananda Shetty is not contesting the upcoming assembly elections, which is far from truth. Sadananda Shetty is JDS candidate contesting in upcoming assembly polls, clarified Susheel Noronha.
During the preparations of civic poll campaign, Nagaraj Shetty and M G Hegde assured that both will organize the civic poll campaign and also choose suitable candidates; but did not kept up their promise. JDS district president M B Sadashiv brought B forms from Bangalore and handed them over to Dr Uday and Nagaraj Shetty, while M G Hegde distributed the forms to the candidates, but they did not do any great work during campaigning. They had mutual understanding with other parties, alleged Susheel Noronha.
Susheel Noronha further said that M B Sadashiv has been a staunch activist in JDS since the past 35 years. Blaming M B Sadashiv for every reason is not correct, added Susheel Noronha.
The newly elected Kudroli ward corporator Aziz Kudroli said that Aslam did not come to his ward or ward number 44 during the campaign of recent civic poll. The efforts of party men has contributed for victory of JDS candidate in both wards and whatever Aslam claims is baseless, said Aziz.
JDS state Committee member Haider Partipady, DK district vice president Ramakrishna Shetty, district organizing secretary Muneer Mukkacheri and district secretary Srinivas Alva were present at the press meet.
